So Excited!

I had back fushion surgery a few weeks ago and am now bed ridden in a hospital bed at home. I have been so “down” since. My family all pitched in and surprised me today by putting on Christmas music and decorating my bedroom – complete with a “Charlie Brown” mini tree πŸ™‚Β  Just wanted to share the joy I’m feeling, and hope that this post combined with the snow contest gets everyone in the pre-holiday cheery mood…and many thanks to all the buzzers on here for all their comments throughout the year – I look forward to always reading the new posts and keeping up with the events as well…this is a great site with great people!

  1. PS…one of the songs playing is “Grandma got run over by a Reindeer”…and since I really am a grandma I jokingly commented…”yeah that’s I’m in this hospital bed – ’cause Rudolph’s nose didn’t light up and he couldn’t see and ran over me!” πŸ™‚

  2. b, may I call you b?….bsniffles seems so formal :). I have a friend that had a similar surgery. Her’s was a great success and I hope the same for you. Best wishes.

  3. Thank you to all for the recovery wishes πŸ™‚
I am having a hard time right now – pain, immobile, throwing up, lots of meds, etc. At times, I wish I wouldn’t have had the surgery – I’m soo miserable & suffering at times, but your support cheers me up πŸ™‚

  4. B…. I think I briefly met you a couple years ago? No way your a grandma.

I had two neck vertabrae fused some years ago… great success for me. Quit smoking at the same time… lets see it was before Becky’s senior year at TA…. that would make it the summer of 1999…. put the cigs down the day beforew the surgery and have not smoked a single one since.

  5. treeman…yep sure am a grandma – thanks, makes me feel good to know I’m not showing my age but that was a few years ago so I’m sure this surgery has taken its toll on me and made me look like a “great” grandma now πŸ™‚
That is great! Surgery helped you plus you quit smoking…you have awesome willpower! happy to hear you had two successes in one…good for you!

  6. treeman…how in the world did you get over the cravings for a cig??? I’ve tried so many times to quit, esp. since this surgery, but just can’t seem to do it…I did do it for 6 months last year but then…I want to but my willpower isn’t as strong as yours…I envy you!! Wish i could do that!
